After developing a respect for, and seeing the awesomeness of the clipper ship, I embarked on a passionate pursuit and study of these tall majestic wonders. I began my first clipper painting and by the time it was finished, my focus and passion for them had increased all the more. This clipper is called "The Lightning" and was built by Donald MacKay in Boston in the early 1850's. It represents the "clear skies ahead" for us, as we put our trust in God through the various storms and trials of life. After developing a respect for, and seeing the awesomeness of the clipper ship, I embarked on a passionate pursuit and study of these tall majestic wonders. About Del Malonee
Del was born and raised in California. He is married and the father of three children. After college he began what he considers an ongoing life style of being self-taught. During his late twenties, he began his own sign/graphics business. Later he became art director for two electric sign corporations, one being the nation’s largest. He has freelanced doing full color architectural renderings for architects and developers in California and Nevada. For many years Del has had a strong passion for the ocean.
